We came up with a multi functional entertainment cabinet. Featuring wine glass holders at the top made from recycled metal retail fixtures. We reused the original shelf but set it lower in the cabinet to make room for a 1 bottle horseshoe wine rack and a few decorations. The small space left under the shelf is perfect for storing boardgames and playing cards. And the original base cabinet holds about 10 bottles of your preferred spirit! Now all thats left to do is finish or paint to customer specs.

New Shop, New Projects!

Hello everyone, its been alittle while since our last post but that dosnt mean we hav’nt been busy! Developing the new shop has been taking up the majority of our time but we are still fulfilling custom orders. Our latest project was a custom built in storage bench for a remodel job being done by Sturdy Home Improvement.

Fresh coat of paint goes on the walls in the new workshop! We used Amazon Recycled paint purchased at Eco Building Bargains. 5gallons for $49! Great coverage latex paint you can brush, roll, or spray.

Next is new electric, install the woodstove, bring in our tools and get workn!

After over 120 man hours we have finished Eco Building Bargains customer counter! It was a lot of work but nothing MWCGs lead artist Trent Guihan couldn’t handle. And special thank to his brother Tony, Josh St and extra thanks to Justin Kasunick, without these guys this job never would have been completed in the time it was. So as we continu the rest of the EcoBB work order we are glad that the tough jobs are installed and our customer is satisfied. More stuff ahead!

What a crazy couple of months we’ve had! Between our Eco Building Bargins work, customer orders, making plans for our new space, and the holiday season fast approaching we have more than our work cut out for us! But its nothing we can’t handle. By the weeks end our biggest order to date will be complete and things will start to get back to normal (whatever normal means…)

In the next few weeks we will be unveiling our holiday collection of gifts and furniture on our new online store, so check back soon to see the latest!

Back to work for our Lead Artist, its going to be all nighters until our Eco Building work is complete!

Eco Building Bargains conference table gets a treatment of beeswax and orange oil before the clear goes on next week. The beeswax will soak into the oak over the weekend giving a nice healthy sheen to the top.

Another current project we are working on is installing a 100% recycled kitchen in the CSRwire.com office on Gasoline Alley. Today we constructed the sink. The cast iron sink unit was purchased at Eco Building Bargins. The base is two old filing cabinets from the office and the frame is a reclaimed 2x8 cut down and attached to the filing cabinets from underneath to hold the base in place and keep the sink from movng around. All in all a very cool piece, plumbing goes in tonight and its done!

Eco Building Bargins conference table is ready for a new finish! After being totally disassembled the top had cracked into about 7 different pieces, but humpty dumpty has been put back together again and is one step closer to its new home in the conference room at their new store on Warwick St.

Pirate chair and table on display for Idea Mill tomorrow at Open Square in Holyoke. The chair and table are made of 100% recycled and abandoned materials. Both also sport the same peg leg style back leg and finished with beeswax and orange oil.

Inner City Youth are big help today at MWCG

Today the New Growth Gardens Youth Program came to the MWCG workshop to help out. A few were assigned to reorganize our collection of hardware. They cleared out our entire showroom floor, swept and laid out the hardware collection. They then took inventory, sorted by type and put it back neatly on the shelves. The rest of the group helped our lead artist Trent Guihan denail a few hundred feet of maple flooring reclaimed from an old basketball court. All in all it was a very productive day, and even better they are looking forward to coming back tomorrow!

Vender Fair @ Eco Building Bargains Tour a Success for MWCG

Yesterday was the EBB construction tour of their new building, businesses involved with the new construction were invited to the vendor fair. We brought a few samples of our work and got a great response from the attendees. The trunk in front sold before the event even started!

With such a great response we hope to have a space in the new store for our work. Its a great example for customers to see what you can do with the materials EBB is selling!

Factory Cart Hardware Ready For New Frame

After taking all the measurements we need to construct the frame, the hardware is carefully removed from what was left of the old rotted structure. The parts will be cleaned and a new frame will be constructed. The new frame will be constructed of hardwood, most likely oak.

Now the hunt is on to find the right material to get the job done!

Old Factory Cart Fit 4 MWCG Restoration

Found in the woods of Gasoline Alley who knows how long its been sitting there. With all the wheels and metal hardware accounted for this cart will get a new wooden platform and some TLC to bring it back to life. These pieces make great coffee tables as well a functional heavy duty cart for the shop.
